Eliza R. Evans
As CEO of INCENTER Inc. Dr Evans catalyzes relationships between industry and universities to accelerate use-inspired research and commercialization, targeted workforce development, and entrepreneurial enterprise. Prior to joining INCENTER in May 2008, Dr. Evans managed the research program at the IC2 Institute at the University of Texas at Austin where she directed several initiatives designed to exploit latent potential in clean energy, nano and biotechnology, wireless, photovoltaics, digital convergence, and advanced manufacturing. Specifically, she has launched economic development efforts to raise awareness and garner support for initiatives as they relate to support structures for commercialization and early stage ventures, and public/private collaboration. She has introduced new tools and methods into the technology-based economic development process through the adaptation of technology strategic planning and system dynamics to support regional growth.
Dr. Evans holds a Ph.D. and MA in Economic Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. from Oberlin College.
